Key Card Questions
What Are Plastic Key Cards Made From?
Our Plastic Key Cards are made from 0.76mm card-grade PVC, printed in Full Colour on both sides and protected beneath laminate.
Can You Add a Magnetic Stripe, Barcode or Numbering?
Yes. All of these are standard options. We offer Hi-Co or Lo-Co Magnetic Stripes, Barcodes, QR Codes and Sequential Numbering.
Do You Offer RFID or Hotel Lock Encoding?
Yes. We offer RFID Key Cards and Hotel Lock Encoding. Send us your lock system and requirements, and we confirm the details for your job with a Free Mock-up before anything is printed.
Will I See a Proof Before You Print?
Yes, always. We email you a digital mockup (PDF) with your invoice. Please check it carefully and reply by email to approve it. Nothing goes into production until you approve. If anything needs changing, just reply and we'll send a revised mockup.
Do We Need Print-Ready Artwork?
No. If you send print-ready artwork, we place it on our template, add your Barcode, Magnetic Stripe or other details in the right spot, and email you a free PDF proof to approve. If you would like us to create the design, standard designs are $49 with no revisions or $99 with two revisions, and detailed, information-heavy designs are $79 with no revisions or $149 with two revisions.
How Long Will My Cards Take?
Standard production is about 2 to 3 weeks from artwork approval and payment. Express production is available on orders of 1,000+ Cards, taking about 7 business days at extra cost. When your order ships, we email you the tracking details.
What Size Are the Cards?
They are standard credit card size (86mm x 54mm), printed in Full Colour on one or both sides, with rounded corners.
Do You Offer Magnetic Stripes?
Yes. We can encode your information onto the stripe for you, or leave it blank so you can encode it yourself. We offer both Hi-Co (high coercivity) and Lo-Co (low coercivity) stripes.
Which Barcode Types Can You Print?
We print Code 128 (the most common), Code 39, EAN-13 and EAN-8 Barcodes, as well as QR Codes. With EAN-13, you get 12 digits plus a computer-generated check digit.
Can I Get a Sample?
Yes. We can post you free samples of our Plastic Cards so you can see and feel the quality. Just send us your street address.
